Class Descriptions
Hatha Vinyasa Class
This class is inspired by Ashtanga Yoga and works with creative sequences of postures, linked together with the audible breathing (ujjayi breath) to form a flowing, energising yoga practice. You will be guided to move smoothly from one posture to another - from lying, to sitting, to standing and being inverted - with sequences varying each week. We also explore the concept of mindfulness and close each class in stillness with guided meditation. Suitable for men and women who enjoy a dynamic yoga practice that builds flexibility, stamina and mental focus - one year'sregular Hatha, Vinyasa or Ashtanga Yoga experience is recommended.
Hatha General Class This class incorporates a variety of traditional Hatha Yoga asanas, instructed slowly and with attention to detail to deepen students' technique and experiences of stillness. We practice a variety of seated, standing, twisted and inverted asana, including options for more challenging balances, back-bending and inversions - sometimes working in partners for some social interaction! This class also includes the foundation elements to mudras, bandhas, pranayama and meditation. Suitable for males and females - some previous yoga experience is essential.
Hatha Beginners II Course
This 8-week course is perfect for anyone that has either been to a yoga class who feels they need to go back and learn the basics or has completed a beginners course and wants to keep learning. We revise the fundamentals of breathing, alignment, technique and asana of Hatha Yoga, as well as move into flowing sequences and more challenging balancing and inverted poses to grow and deepen the yoga experience of stillness. Guided pranayama, meditation and partner work is also included. Suitable for men and women with beginners course or some previous yoga experience essential.
Relax & Meditate Class
During this class, we focus completely on creating physical and mental relaxation, stillness and peace. Each class commences with gentle, restorative Hatha Yoga postures to help steady the body and mind. You will learn and be guided through elementary pranayama, breath awareness, relaxation and insight meditation techniques, from the Hatha Yoga and Buddhist traditions. A deeply relaxing and rejuvenating class. Suitable for men, women and pregnant women with or without yoga or meditation experience.
