"He who looks outside dreams. He who looks inside awakens." ~ Carl Jung
Natalie Snooke, creator and director of Momentum Coaching & Yoga, is passionate about understanding people and helping others to live to their full potential.
A special interest in human nature was sparked at the age of 18 when Natalie spent a year living in Italy as an exchange student. Following her exchange experience, as a young adult she devoted many years with AFS Exchanges as a volunteer - coordinating, training and mentoring international exchange students and their families.
Graduating from university with a Bachelor of Business, Natalie enjoyed a professional career as a human resource manager and corporate trainer for over 12 years. As well as providing one-on-one guidance at both staff and executive levels, she designed and facilitated many popular staff development programs, with an emphasis on wellness and personal growth. An interest in holistic development and desire to support others on a more personal level led her to explore coaching. She graduated as a Life Coach in 2007, with her first clients 'finding her' before her studies were completed.
Natalie coaches both men and women, often professionals in their 30’s and 40’s, to grow their self-awareness, self-confidence and self-expression. Through her blend of professional skill and intuitive listening and presence, she has sucessfully coached clients from around Western Australia and internationally, including the USA, India and Japan.
Yoga unexpectedly entered Natalie's life amidst a flourishing career, a fetish for long-distance running and a drive for material success, yet a persistent inner-longing for deeper fulfilment. A chance newspaper advertisement for a beginners yoga course introduced her first yoga teacher, Melanie McDonald and in that very first class, something shifted for Natalie and she knew she had found her life calling.
Natalie is dedicated to the path of yoga and offers her deep respect and gratitude to the yoga and meditation teachers that have guided her. She has practised and studied philosophy in the Classical Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga traditions for over five years, including Teacher Training at Yoga Thailand with Paul Dallaghan, Pranayama Teacher Certification at Kailvalyadhama, India and a 12-month mentorship with Jean Byrne at the Yoga Space. She continues to be inspired, attending retreats and training with prominant teachers including Louisa Sear, Sri OP Tiwari, Professor Nagaraja Rao, Sharath Rangaswamy, Richard Freeman, Dena Kingsberg, Emil Wendil and Dr Robert Svoboda. Natalie's yoga journey was highlighted by a four-month visit to the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in India, under the guidance of the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois. She has spent time living in Indian ashrams, including one year in the Sivananda Ashram near Fremantle. Natalie continues her Ashtanga practice with Rob Schutze.
As a committed practitioner of Insight Meditation (Vipassana) in the Theravada Buddhist tradition, Natalie's Dharma teachers include Ajahn Brahm, Patrick Kearney and Sky Dawson. Natalie honours time in silence and regularly attends silent meditation retreats. Natalie is also strongly influenced by Advaita Vedanta philosophy and the teachings of Adyashanti. She is an Enneagram practitioner, having trained directly with Eli Jaxon-Bear.
Natalie’s joy is in meeting and warmly connecting with others, both on and off the yoga mat. Offering an uplifting energy and practical wisdom, her approach encourages an open mind, an open heart and the integration of mindfulness in everyday life.
“We all strive and struggle for things in life! Letting go and making peace with ourselves and 'what is' makes a simple, yet profound, change to the way we can live. While achieving status, having things and making money may be worthwhile, it’s our inner growth and journey that really counts. The willingness to be open and soften to the constant calling of our own heart is the way - I love supporting others to make this shift.” Natalie Snooke
Natalie teaches classes in Hatha Yoga and facilitates interactive programs that combine the benefits of coaching, yoga and meditation. She teaches yoga philosophy for the Fremantle Yoga Centre's Teacher Training program, registered with Yoga Australia.
Natalie is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (200 Hours) and Yoga Australia (formerly known as the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia). She is professionally recognised by the International Coach Federation and the Australian Human Resources Institute.
Away from Momentum, Natalie is an occasional writer, keen gardener, foodie and curious traveller. She has a passion for sacred music and chanting. Natalie is respectful of the Nyoongar people, the traditional owners of the land where she resides and feels a strong connection to the earth. Spending time in nature, on the beach and bush-walking make her feel alive. Natalie was born and raised in Meckering in country Western Australia and is part of a loving, extended family, playing ‘Aunty Natty’ to Alec, Tara, Tristan and little Molly May.
